Roses + Sunlight = Warm Radiance
Whether it’s breakfast or dinner, having an inviting table makes sitting down to a meal an event. You don’t have to go overboard on fancy china, either–I get most of my decorations from Ikea and garage sales. (Although I will admit that my wooden centerpieces are from Costa Rica; part of the joy of traveling is bringing back bits of where you’ve been.) But you can make wonderful vases out of recycled wine and vinegar bottles…or cut down a particularly pretty Kleenex box to make a bohemian-chic napkin holder. Simple candles can transform a ho-hum dinner into a five-star experience. If you’re going for a more colorful look, try carpeting the table with kitchen towels. Your table will be protected and your guests will enjoy the cheery patchwork tablecloth!
Your imagination is the limit when it comes to sprucing up your dining environs. Refined, classic, plucky, visionary…just allow your personality to shine through. Decorating can be easy and fun!
